The desktop app gives Perch two things a browser tab cannot: a real folder boundary and direct access to the browser tools you are already signed into.
Get started
Install to first task in four steps.

Download and install
Mac: open the DMG, drag Perch AI Desktop to Applications, then right-click and choose Open if macOS blocks the first launch. Windows: run the installer and launch from Start. If SmartScreen warns, choose More info, then Run anyway.

Sign in
Open the app and sign in with your Perch account. Pick Starter, BYO, or Pro on first sign-in. No invite code needed.

Choose a folder
Start with the folder that already holds the work: cases, invoices, statements, exports, drafts, or research. Perch uses that folder boundary for everything it reads and produces.

Give it a task
Pick Quill or Saffron and ask a real question. Let Perch read the files before judging the answer. The first useful output usually comes after it has inspected the material, not before.
What desktop adds
Browser, files, and workspace in one app.
- Browser delivery
- Perch works inside the apps you are already signed into. It can create a Google Doc, write an email in Gmail, open a calendar invite, and leave a receipt you can trace back.
- Local folder access
- Choose the folder that holds the work. Perch reads from that boundary and keeps drafts, audits, evidence, and source trails inside it.
- Focused workspace
- The desktop app keeps your folder, browser session, working style, and canvas in one place. It opens back where you left off.
Troubleshooting
If something blocks the install.
macOS says the app is damaged
This early build is unsigned, so macOS may show a damaged-app warning after download. If you downloaded from this page, drag it to Applications, open Terminal, run the command below, then open the app again.

Some browsers flag the installer because it is not notarized yet. Confirm the download URL starts with perchai.t3.tigrisfiles.io and proceed.
Windows SmartScreen warning
Click More info, then Run anyway. The Windows build is not EV-signed during early access.
App looks stale or frozen
Quit and reopen. If the issue persists, download the current build from this page. Updates are manual during early access.
