What Desktop adds

Perch Desktop extends the web workspace with native macOS capabilities. The interface and agent behavior are identical — the local runtime layer is what changes.

Files

Direct local file access

The agent loop reads and writes files on your machine directly — no upload step, no intermediary storage. Point it at a directory and it works.

Shell

Sandboxed command execution

Run shell commands and scripts through a controlled local tool layer. The agent can call local tools the same way it calls cloud tools.

Offline

Offline-capable sessions

Core workspace features remain available without a network connection. When connectivity resumes, sessions sync automatically.

AP Bridge

AP audit bridge

Connect the AP audit pipeline directly to local document stores and output directories — no manual export or re-import required.

Runtime

Hosted UI + local runtime

The interface is the same as the web workspace. The local runtime layer adds native capabilities without a separate product to learn.
